The Bruce Highway makes the run north simple; the two ends of the trip are what vary. On the coastal side — Caloundra, Maroochydore, the estates spreading west of them — blocks are small and new streets are narrow, so most deliveries are a 20ft container backed into a driveway on a tilt-tray. Inland, the railway towns of Landsborough, Beerwah and Nambour open out into farms and acreage where there is room to work.
Then there is the range. Maleny, Montville and the properties along the Blackall Range are reached by steep, winding roads, and many driveways up there are steeper still. Wet weather turns red soil greasy in a hurry. In most cases, yes. The range roads are steep and winding and some driveways will not take a tilt-tray, so we ask for photos of the entrance and the drop spot before booking. Wet-weather deliveries on red soil are best avoided.
It depends on the zoning, the size of the block and how long the container stays. Short-term use during a build is treated differently to a permanent structure. Check with Sunshine Coast Council or Noosa Council before delivery — we can supply the container's dimensions for the application.
Most small farms start with a 20ft because it fits almost anywhere and can be shifted later. If you are storing pallets, long irrigation pipe or a ride-on plus implements, a 40ft is better value per cubic metre.
